Local FTP-settings Joomla 1.5 - MAMP (Pro) OS X

Since a few year I start to use Joomla more and more to make my websites. But the more sites you make the bigger the need to develop, test and debug them offline before putting it on a live server. For developing Joomla websites offline I use MAMP Pro on my Macbook Pro. This app works great out of the box and fits my needs perfectly. The only thing that bothered me is documentation about the combination Joomla (1.5) and MAMP Pro when it comes to FTP on your local machine. A big and intensive search on the internet learned me that there is almost no documentation on how to achieve this. But for installing components, plugins etc into your Joomla site it is absolutely neccesary.

So to help others in their search, here are my settings that helped me out.

I have no clue why the FTP-layer needs to be off, but when it's on FTP stops working.
The local ip-adress of your system can be found under the System preferences, network, Airport or ethernet (depends on your connection to internet), advanced settings, TCP/IP, IPv4 adres.
FTP-port 21 is OK.
The name of your system that can be found by clicking the Apple-icon in the left uppercorner of your screen next to log out.
Your system password.
The local path to your MAMP (Pro) htdocs folder. If you develop several sites from the htdocs folder then point to that specific sitefolder like the pic above.

In my case the settings as mentioned above work just fine. If you should encounter problems or have extra information regarding this issue please let me know. For now I wish you luck with the settings and "happy developing"!
